1977 to 2007: 30 Years of Friendship Force
Friendship Force International invited to an International
Conference for the celebration of the 30th Anniversary at Atlanta.
President George Brown was pleased to welcome 500 guests from all over
the World among them the Mayor of Atlanta and well known
representatives from politics and commerce at the Atlanta Aquarium
Convention Centre. A letter of greeting sent by the former US
President and co-founder of Friendship Force Jimmy Carter was
presented to the audience.
Presentation and workshops were held dedicated to recollections as
well to prospects of the future. What will be the contents of the
forthcoming 30 years?
These aspects will be on the agenda of the two working sessions of the
Board of Directors in the year 2007. A new programmatic commission
established for this complex topic under the chairmanship of Horst
Neumann from Varel has already initiated first activities.
After the celebration a lot of the international participants had the
chance to enjoy a couple of days of „homehosting“ at FF Clubs in the
vicinity of Atlanta. The representative from Varel was hosted by FF
Charlotte (North Carolina), which is the destination of our next
outgoing exchange in April 2007.
