Status of Activities at meeting on
January 8th 2012
General Information
The next meeting will be on February 12th 2012.
The 2012 General Conference is scheduled to convene at March 11th
2012. Hopefully lots of members will attend.
The next “Bossel and Kale event” is planned for March
17th 2012 in Horsten. Meeting point is the “Raiffeisen-Genossenschaft"
at Horsten at 13.30 hrs. Organized by Sonja Willle, telephone 04453-71186

As a starter of a new initiative for varying presentations at
the monthly meetings Hans-Georg Buchtmann presented interesting
aspects of the linguistic and historic development of landscape
names.
Planning 2012
Incoming Exchanges:
From June 8th to 15th or June 18th to 25th 2012 – Friendship
Force Cheyenne (Wyoming/USA) and Friendship Force Flathead Valley
(Montana/USA) have announced their visit intentions. (Exchange directors:

From August 31st to September 7th – Friendship Force Medicine
Hat (Alberta/CDN) will come with 22 guests to visit Varel (Exchange
directors: Gisela Vahlenkamp, telephone 04461-71753 and Hildburg
Sadzio, telephone 04451-83537 and Luise Pampuch, telephone 04461-6565).
From October 3rd to 10th – Friendship Force Mount Barker
und Northern District (Adelaide/AUS) is planning to visit us (Exchange
directors: Vilmos Gyöngyösi and Heike Kuntze-Gyöngyösi,
telephone 04451-951033 and for Exchange directors training practice

Outgoing Exchanges:
From April 11th to May 3th 2012 – The overseas exchange is
now one week to Friendship Force Recife (BR) and one week to Friendship
Force Tere Rio (BR). (Exchange directors: Helmut Suhren, telephone
04451-6723 and Vilmos Gyöngyösi, telephone 04451-951033).
Our club intends to arrange a weekend visit to Friendship Force
Schwerin but both clubs are working on a suitable schedule.
Planning 2013
The querying of the club president and a written statement of
the honorary president and exchange director concerning the accounting
procedure of the so called “Language Learner Exchanges”
was finally clarified with Barbara Stonebrink-Martin in the sense
that such exchanges will not be accounted to the standard exchange
programme of the club but will rather be acknowledged as a positive
activity of the club.
Within this context Friendship Force Varel and Friendship Force
Cottbus have been asked to think about the arrangement and hosting
possibilities of a Language Learner exchange in German language
for 2013.
