The weekend visit to Friendship Force
Braunschweig/Peine (Germany)
After Friendship Force Braunschweig/Peine had been invited by Friendship
Force Varel to their annual Bossel and Kale event in February 2006
they made a return visit on the weekend from October 24th to 26th
2008.
Due to cancellations on short notice the number of participants
was finally reduced to 8 members of Friendship Force Varel who had
the opportunity to enjoy the advantages of the Lower Saxony Train
Ticket.
The hosts had arranged a colourful programme starting with a walk
through the inner city of Peine at the day of arrival. On the following
day the visitors enjoyed an interesting guided tour into the UNESCO
World Cultural Heritage the “Museum and Visitors Mine Rammelsberg”
close to Goslar followed by an extensive and informative walk through
the historical city of Goslar in the afternoon.
On Sunday a very professionally guided tour through the city of
Braunschweig finalized the official programme. However it should
not be forgotten that in addition the visitors were spoiled by the
excellent cuisines of the hosts as well as of various restaurants.
The varied and exiting programme and the outstanding hospitality
of the hosts can only be categorized as “fantastic!” Friendship
Force Braunschweig/Peine deserve an open “Thank You” for
that weekend.
