Recife (Brazil) diverted to Varel (Germany)
On Wednesday evening, August 4th 2010, Horst
Neumann, the honorary President of Friendship Force Varel
(Germany), received a phone call from Günter Lose, Friendship
Force Kiel (Germany) with the news that a portion of an exchange
by Brazilian Friendship Force Ambassadors who were then staying
in the area had to be changed.

Friendship Force Varel – Low Tide Mud Hiking 2010
to Spiekeroog Island
On Saturday July 3rd 2010 Helmut Suhren had
planned yearly low tide mud hiking to the island of Spiekeroog.
So early in the morning sunshine the 21 “fearless”,
including some guests, met on time at the harbour of Harlesiel.

Incoming Exchange from Tuxtla-Gutiérrez
A group of 21 guests were visiting us from Tuxtla-Guitérrez
(Mexico) from June 20th to 27th 2010.
After their stay at Berlin they travelled by train to Varel.
From Osnabrück Main Station they were accompanied by
our exchange directors Gisela Vahlenkamp and Hildburg Sadzio.

First success of cooperation with Adult Education School
Oldenburg
On the basis of an intensified common preparation
with Melanie Kahl from the Adult Education School (AES) at
Oldenburg Friendship Force Varel was able to welcome seven
interested attendees to their presentation at the Adult Education
School Oldenburg on June 16th 2010.

During a radio programme of the station “Oeins”
on June 2nd 2010 the young Vice President of Friendship Force
Varel, Birgit Wagner, and the Honorary President, Horst Neumann
introduced the mission of Friendship Force International in
general and the non profit making Club of Varel in particular,
which organises exchange programmes.

Friendship Force European Conference in
Varel
Under the patronage of the Mayor of the city
of Varel, Gerd Wagner, the conference agenda was dedicated
to the subject of “Public awareness and appearance of
Friendship Force in the future”. The President of Friendship
Force International from Atlanta (Georgia, USA), George Brown
and representatives of clubs from 10 different European Nations.

The German Conference of Friendship Force in Berlin 2010
The first highlight for the German Friendship
Force Clubs in the year 2010 was the German Conference in
Berlin. Heike Gempf, president of Friendship Force Berlin,
and her team ensured that the event at the Best Western Hotel
President passed off very smoothly.
